Zhongshan Park
One of the oldest urban parks in Shenzhen, Zhongshan Park was established in 1925 and offers a peaceful retreat steeped in history. Its most treasured landmark is the 300-metre-long Northern City Wall of Nantou, built during the Ming Dynasty in the late 14th century. Constructed from blue bricks, the wall has withstood over six centuries and remains impressively intact. At the heart of the park stands a statue of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, surrounded by historic sites such as the Wang Family Ancestral Hall and the Liberation of Nei Lingding Island Monument. Towering ancient trees, tranquil lakes, and shaded walkways make this park both an open-air museum and a beloved green space for relaxation and exercise. Located just 1 kilometre from Nantou Ancient Town, the two sites can be explored together. The city wall ruins are best accessed from the park’s East Gate, with signage guiding visitors to this hidden gem in the northwest corner.
