Lanson Place Causeway Bay, Hong Kong is pleased to announce the appointment of Leo Chow as Executive Chef, effective 1 May 2026.
A seasoned culinary professional with over 30 years of experience, Chef Leo has been a cornerstone of the hotel’s culinary identity since joining the pre-opening team in 2023. His expertise, from menu planning to day-to-day operations, has been pivotal in launching and defining Salon Lanson’s elevated comfort food concept.
Chef Leo’s passion for the kitchen began in childhood, sparked by genuine curiosity about how simple home ingredients could be transformed into delicious meals. He formalised this interest at age 18, beginning his professional journey as a trainee at the Hong Kong Yacht Club. Over the next two decades, he honed his craft at some of Hong Kong’s most respected establishments, including the former Ritz-Carlton Hotel, The Mira and EAST Hong Kong. During this time, he developed a deep appreciation for refined French techniques, a discipline he has since integrated into his mastery of Western cuisine.
In 2023, Chef Leo achieved a significant milestone in his career when he joined Lanson Place Causeway Bay as Sous Chef. During the hotel’s highly anticipated re-opening phase, Leo and the team spent months experimenting with dishes and designing the foundation for what would become Salon Lanson. In his new capacity as Executive Chef, he now oversees the entire culinary division, including the kitchens of Salon Lanson, In-Room Dining, event catering, private dining and stewarding, ensuring a seamless experience across all touchpoints.
To Chef Leo, the kitchen serves as a sanctuary for creativity, where true fulfilment comes from establishing meaningful connections with guests through food. His culinary philosophy is rooted in the belief that true luxury does not require rare or prohibitively expensive ingredients. Rather, he is dedicated to realising the full potential of fresh, seasonal produce through mastery and intent. “It’s about bringing out the best of the ingredients with the right techniques and balance”, Leo explains. “I envision our menu to remain comforting yet elevated, evolving in perfect rhythm with the seasons to ensure that every dish feels both timely and timeless”.
